No costs after pedestrian struck by unmarked Regina police car – Regina

Regina Police Service (RPS) says no costs shall be laid after one among its officers struck a pedestrian with a car final month.

The collision occurred within the 3000 block of 4th Avenue at 12:45 a.m. on Could 28, in accordance with a press launch.

“On that evening, there have been patrol officers and a marked police automobile close to that location for an unrelated name. It seems a male crossed 4th Avenue, distracted by the marked police automobile, and didn’t see a car approaching eastbound on 4th Avenue,” learn a RPS assertion on Friday.

RPS mentioned the 48-year-old man was not in a crosswalk and was carrying darkish clothes when he was struck by the unmarked police car. They added he sustained non-life-threatening accidents and was launched from hospital after therapy.

Following an investigation by a collision reconstruction professional, police mentioned there shall be no costs in opposition to the pedestrian or the constable with 10 years’ service expertise.
